RARE RARE BUESCHER 400 TRUE TONE TENOR SAXOPHONE MOUTHPIECE ISSUED WITH THE EARLY TOP HAT & CANE SAXOPHONES BEFORE THEY CHANGED TO ISSUEING THE WHITE ONES. IN EXCELLANT SHAPE WITH LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL LIGATURE AND CAP. I COULD NOT EVEN FIND AN IMAGE ON ONE OF THESE. BESIDES REMEMBERING READING THIS SOME OTHER PLACE SOMETIME !

I LOOKED AT A THREAD ON SAX ON THE WEB AND READ THIS EXCHANGE BETWEEN WHO SEEM TO BE SMART SAX GUYS TALKING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF MPC SAID:

If so, the sidewalls, narrow tip opening, large chamber, and round shank ring sound just like the older ones that came with the True Tones and Aristocrats.

It’s got scooped-out sidewalls. It’s an early TH&C, about ’45, so your hypothesis could be true.
